QHT -- It's possible, as you noted, that ". . . Arm doesn't have quality peripheral IP like NPU or GPU like Snapdragons do." But now that Arm seems to be entering into competition with Qualcomm's Snapdragon Elite processors and modems, where did ARM suddenly get that capability? Could ARM have used some Qualcomm hardware and software designs that it obtained under discovery for a previous legal action against Qualcomm?

Qualcomm, in its current legal action against ARM, has an opportunity to do exactly what ARM did: subpoena chip designs and accompanying software to determine whether ARM used QCOM IP unlawfully.

Early in its history as a newly founded publicly traded company, Qualcomm acted like Mr. Nice Guy, allowing a challenger (MaCom, now Interdigital) a cross license for some QCOM IP. Yet Qualcomm's more recent posture toward ARM indicates a healthy change – no more Mr. Nice Guy. Did ARM, or its principal shareholder Masayoshi Son have access to Qualcomm IP (either from ARM or possibly from Intel) that would lead to competing chips and related components?
