Institutions likely make just as much money lending out their QCOM stock to hedge funds as they do from it's good dividend.

To them it's all no risk gains and requires much less effort than trading in the issues of the Mag7. They're also likely peddling within the options market to increase their returns, all on the backs of retail investors.

All just my opinion.
