By all means move valuable coins to a safe place Bob. In the late 1970's I had all my coin collection and paper currency collection stolen. It was worth many, many, thousands at the time and only Odin knows the value in todays world. Most memorably I had over 400 silver Certificate $1.00 bills; almost 100 $2 bills, over 300 silver dollars; several complete mint sets of various nickles, dimes, quarters, half dollars, etc.

My ignorance in not having then in a good safe at home or elsewhere was pretty stupid. Strange as it might sound, I lost all interest in collection after that.
