<Upcoming Trump-Putin Meeting in Hungary Pulls the Rug From Under Zelensky’s Ambitions, Sidelines EU Warmongers From Peace Process

by Paul Serran

Trump, Zelensky, Putin, and Orbán: peace process has been jump-started again. Trump is focused on the fact that ‘peace is the prize’.

On the eve of his arrival in Washington DC for a meeting with Donald J. Trump, Kiev regime leader Volodymyr Zelensky’s world turned upside down.

The US President’s consequential phone call with Russia’s Vladimir Putin and the announcement of a meeting between the two in Hungary has shown Zelensky – and the world – the real face of the Trump administration on the Ukraine war.

The prospect of Zelensky getting the Tomahawk missiles has become very distant, and the MSM is painfully aware of that.

The Telegraph wrote: ‘Trump meeting Putin in Budapest is blow to Europe’, while Reuters published ‘Putin’s Budapest visit makes awkward spectacle for EU, NATO’.

The Associated Press added: ‘Ahead of Zelenskyy meeting, Trump shows signs he might not be ready to send Kyiv Tomahawk missiles’.

The Telegraph reported:

“Donald Trump’s announcement that he will meet Vladimir Putin in Budapest to discuss Ukraine will be felt as a painful blow in Europe.”

Viktor Orban, the Hungarian prime minister, comes out of this process much strengthened.

“Often derided as Putin’s closest ally in the European Union (EU), Mr. Orban has regularly clashed with Volodymyr Zelensky and railed against Western sanctions over the illegal invasion of Ukraine.

He has repeatedly broken ranks with his allies in Nato and the EU, where summits on Ukraine now routinely end with conclusions agreed by all except Hungary in a breach of convention.

Relations with president Zelensky are at sub-zero. Mr. Orban has vowed to block Ukraine’s accession to the EU and accuses Kyiv of persecuting the Hungarian ethnic minority.”

Associated Press reported:

“President Donald Trump is set to host Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for talks at the White House on Friday, with the U.S. leader signaling he’s not ready to agree to sell Kiev a long-range missile system that the Ukrainians say they desperately need.

[…] In recent days, Trump had shown an openness to selling Ukraine long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles, even as Putin warned that such a move would further strain the U.S.-Russian relationship.

But following Thursday’s call with Putin, Trump appeared to downplay the prospects of Ukraine getting the missiles, which have a range of about 995 miles (1,600 kilometers.)

‘We need Tomahawks for the United States of America too’, Trump said. ‘We have a lot of them, but we need them. I mean we can’t deplete our country’.”>
