The estate I live on has it's own hydro. We have plenty of rain. It produces far more power then needed for the estate so most of it is exported to the grid.

For various cost, technical and bureaucratic reasons we are still paying grid prices. That is being worked on and hopefully the whole mess can be dumped and maybe even the grid with it.

Yeah I am putting in a little Solar too -g-
