PG&E used to get my XS for free, so I made sure I was a net consumer, not a producer. When the policy changed, I replaced my old fridge with a more efficient model, and became a producer. Between that and the credit I get from our carbon cap and dividend, I haven't paid anything for a number of years, and I've even received a few checks.
