Once Apple goes 100% own modem that gives Qcom max leverage on licensing renewal negotiations. For Q I would go for the max rate they can get as fair and reasonable. Apple can take it or leave it and if they leave it they legally can’t sell phones with any Qualcomm patented technology in their modems. Qualcomm has absolutely no incentive to reduce the rate. Apple will get the highest rate that any other OEM pays. The only prior leverage Apple had in negotiations on licensing was the threat of not using Qcom chips. They would be wise to renegotiate prior to going 100% own modem.
