Most likely than not, this is headed to court, then the key is whether Apple gets to withhold royalty payments w/o consequential potential punity damages...

If Apple can't withhold, then Qualcomm can push the trial for as long as it takes. If not, similarly Apple can keep pushing out. Market conditions at that time might make either of the company to blink based on their competitive position...

IMHO, of course, it's my opinion, and other might disagree. In 2019, Apple was hurting because of Intel's inability to produce 5G modem, and QC not getting money from Apple hurting its financials and stock price. These made the situation contusive for a settlement... We will see how things turn out this time....
