¦ The U.S. State Department informed mediators of the Gaza peace agreement – Egypt, Qatar and Turkey – of credible reports indicating a planned attack by Hamas against Palestinian civilians, which would constitute a violation of the ceasefire agreement and, according to the department, undermine the significant progress achieved through mediation efforts. Mediators have demanded Hamas to uphold its obligations under the ceasefire terms, and the State Department said that should Hamas proceed with the attack, measures will be taken to protect the people of Gaza.
