Changing oil- we toss out the vehicle recommendation and get the oil tested. This gives a very good idea when to change the oil. If the brand of oil changes that gets tested at around 3500 miles . Some oils break down faster than others. Another factor is age of the oil - two year old oil sitting in an engine does break down a bit.
