Back in the day a buddy and I made our first trip to the States, we went as far as the Mexican border but didn't cross as some locals we met warned us about crossing. On the way back to LA my friend lost his leather hippie type hat out the window of his 1958 Ford. I can still visualize him dodging cars as he chased his hat on that freeway. I thought at the time he was going to get killed but he got his hat back without a scratch
