With all the laid off journalists around here, I keep thinking some of them will start up a paper in this area, but so far, nada. There are roughly five suburban communities here without a reliable news service. One is 150,000 people another, 80,000. But people are also used to getting news for free now. Problem is, its usually low-grade frivolous news.... like hot new eateries, or micro-breweries.
