Jewish rejection of Jesus as the Messiah was foretold...

And remember, these people I'm quoting below are all Jews, very Woke JEWS...
  1. Isaiah 53
    The “Suffering Servant” prophecy says,

“He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows…” (Isaiah 53:3).
Christians interpret this as foretelling Jesus’ rejection by His own people.

  2. Psalm 118:22

“The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.”
Jesus Himself later quotes this verse, applying it to His own rejection (see Matthew 21:42).
  3. Zechariah 12:10

“They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him…”
Seen as predictive of the Jewish people realizing they rejected their Messiah.

  4. Deuteronomy 18:15–19
Moses foretells a future prophet like himself; Christians believe Jesus fulfilled this but was not recognized by many in Israel.
New Testament Affirmations
  1. John 1:11

“He came unto his own, and his own received him not.”

  2. Romans 11:7–11
Paul teaches that Israel’s rejection was foreseen and that it served a divine purpose — opening salvation to the Gentiles, until “the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.”

  3. Acts 4:11
Peter again cites Psalm 118:22, declaring Jesus “the stone you builders rejected.”

Theological Interpretation Christian theology traditionally holds that:
  • The rejection was foretold as part of God’s redemptive plan.

  • It was temporary, and prophecy (e.g., Romans 11:25–26, Zechariah 12:10) suggests that one day, Israel as a people will recognize Jesus as the Messiah.
