Thanks for that Clone, although I must disagree on at least one point, being my hopeless living :) it's rather the opposite. I do not fear the things you fear, it's as simple as that.
I do not waste my time even thinking a moment about the sky is falling. If I have a candle burning in my kitchen you might think my house is on fire, but I don't think that way. If we were not bombarded all the time with fear message, we wouldn't worry a bit about it imho, but some people for some reason love to be scared and want us all to be as well.
Imho I consider myself to be an environmentalist as do you I'm sure, as if humans do indeed have the ability to raise co2 levels in the atmosphere from 0.04% by another one hundredth of a percent in the next hundred years I'm thinking the plants and forests will be happy and the world will be a greener place. I don't care what the "models" show, they're created by biased people.
Oooh btw, someone else loves it when we're scared, hmm I wonder who that would be. The weatherman just wants more more more of your money to prevent the weather cataclysm he's predicting, even as he sticks to his same old story year after year after year, the cataclysm is approaching, give me more money or else. Sounds a little like religion to me.
I'm guessing most people living on the west coast never fear the inevitable shifting of the great fault plates under their feet which will cause unimaginable catastrophe, they go about their day because it likely won't happen in their lifetime. So, it's a great conundrum to me to hear people so concerned about 0.05 % co2 something we can gently and easily adapt to in the next 25-50-100 years from now if needs be.
On a side note, another conundrum is why do "man made global warming" people buy oil and gas stocks? I don't understand it, but I guess it's because I'm not smart enough :) probably true.
On that topic I can't answer if I'm as smart as a scientist. I'm guessing as in most professions there is a curve. Many of them probably think they're smarter than they really are. The smartest man I've ever known was an electrician and he was the humblest man you could meet. He knew at least a little bit about absolutely everything. On the other hand, I knew a doctor who asked me the reason of a power outage to his condo building, and I said there's a tree on the lines downtown and he replied that's impossible because he has underground service ;) ;) ;) true story.
When doctors said don't eat eggs they raise your cholesterol and will kill you, most average people rolled their eyes and said whatever, while the higher educated people ran to throw their eggs in the garbage, so who really was the smart ones? What does smart even mean?
All in good humour, have a good one. Sorry to bore people if you've read this far. |
