In my younger days I spent several months in Canada, mainly on wilderness trips. Visited Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, and Yukon Territory.

Dined on fresh-caught walleyes and lake trout in Quetico Provincial Park.

Ate pizza at a combo restaurant / curling rink in Montreal.

Watched antelope on the long drive west across the prairie provinces.

Stunned by the beauty of Banff National Park.

Drove the gravel Alaska Highway up through BC/YT to Atlin BC, Whitehorse YT, and Tagish Lake. Toured an active underground (copper?) mine near Whitehorse. Climbed a mountain at Tagish Lake, and caught some beautiful lake trout.

Returned via Cassiar Highway in BC, on new asphalt pavement. Fresh salmon for dinner from a roadside stream.

Why didn't I just stay there? ;)
