Yeah! good point! that's another thing that's gonna be way different that the movies. Work with me here. You have a ship, say you're a miner 49er (2349). You NEVER enter atmosphere. The only time you come close to atmosphere is the Miner's Rest on the Big Asteroid, that's a bubble, space dock has no atmosphere. Therefore you can make your ship look like whatever you want. no rules. Personally, I think the 67-69 Camaro is a superb choice. The thing is, if it can be constructed to hold a pressure without leaking and you can bolt stuff on it, it's a go. If it's big, you can leave it in orbit and take your gig down. My main argument with the Star Trek Universe is the above. There is some "idea" that if you go real fast in space you need a windswept vehicle. Not so. The Borg ship is poo too. If they were gonna do that, they would do a geodesic solid, not a dumb cube that has a lot of model parts pasted on it.

Geodesic solids, which you can make any shape you want pretty much. Bolt on some headlight bezels and a couple of bumpers, spray it candy red and you be stylin'.

Now about the faster-than-light drive, I've gotten in some wicked arguments about taht with a buddy that is a PHD in Physics. We sort of reached a stalemate until I can give him some proof. Just like a college professor. Tight ass. Anyway, I'm workin' on it.
