Re: Northern Oil and Gas (NOG)

My 'Value' investment thesis is simple. I want to own hard assets and NOG has those. I believe we are in a very long term "Debasement" of the $US as evidenced by Gold and the other metals. So the companies that benefit from such a situation are those that own (1) hard assets which generate good FCF stream(s); (2) hold debt denominated in $US that losses value over years; and/or (3) have revenue streams, assets and/or customers that pay in something else other than in $US.

In other words, I believe the U.S. Dollar Index Cash(DXY00) will move lower because of the huge debt the US maintains (no exit strategy except going back to the gold standard and/or backed by some basket of hard/real tangible assets).

If that is the eventual strategy NOG is a perfect fit for the portfolio.

My garden too is done w/ 6" of snow earlier this week. Not sure how long anything survives, maybe the Kahle and beets have a few weeks left.
