At 81, cut way back on what we grow ourselves. Lots of excellent fruit, vegetable & grain farms - especially Amish - within 10 -15 mi. who sell to the public at attractive prices in season. Much richer soil than WV. which was mostly hilly pasture land. So, Sue bot, froze & canned what we need til next growing season.
As food prices continue to climb, every time we eat something from our storage, it's like buying at deeper & deeper discounts are the months go by.
4 of the 6 grand kids here. What a joy!
2 oldest boys, 15 & 14 are playing hockey,. One on AA the other a AAA youth team. AA 15 old , a gifted Alpha Male athlete & natural leader like my son. Unlike younger bro, who's benefited from 4 yrs of individual professional mentoring, he's only been working with his NHL pro 2 yrs. He's progressing so fast, it's amazing.
Should step up to AAA team next yr. If he can avoid serious injury? Good shot of being drafted right out of H.S. Exceptional ability, the right - balanced - attitude, strong work ethic, & he really wants it.
