Today my wife, who doesn't get afraid, had a close call. One of the people she cares for somehow got hold of a knife with a nice, sharp, 6" blade on it. This person likes to throw things at people's faces. She was ready to throw the knife at my wife's face and was pretty close and winding up. My wife jumped out of the area and called for help. The help arrived, and a couple of people disarmed her would-be assailant. I offered my wife a bit of Scotch when she got home as a reward/balm. She gladly accepted. Just another Thursday. This doesn't throw me, probably because I grew up with a dad whose bank was frequently robbed by gunmen. It was also frequented by world champion boxers.
