There used to be very valid reasons top locate in NYC. Now everything is virtual and certain high level functions can be performed virtually. My firm was located in ST. Louis then second after NYC. We had a NY presence though smaller.

Around 2002 , I was running a very large project and met with the NY staff for their input. After meetings, I went out to dinner with one of the female managers/ She told me, "you know, you don't need us (meaning a NYC presence). I told her that we all knew that....

The commie will kill other NY functions as well such as theatre, art, fashion etc.
