My wife has made her life about helping the less fortunate. For example, she helps out a family on the side who has a daughter with a debilitating, progressive brain disease.
This girl is a very cute, 9-year old girl. However, in the days my wife helps out, she pelts my wife with swats, pulls her hair, throws things at her, and says "I hate you", "I'll kill you", "you're a frick", "You should die", and other Stuart Smally-type daily affirmations. This can go on non-stop for up to 4-hours.
As bad as this is, imagine how it is for the parents who have to live with this 24/7. The kid won't eat, so they have a feeding tube. She gets constipated all the time, which makes her angry. It's like having a Tasmanian Devil living with you.
My wife leads support groups during the week for people as well. People just naturally gravitate towards her healing words and disposition.
While she couldn't fight her way out of a wet paper bag, my wife is so tall and fit that nobody messes with her. They assume she could pummel them within an inch of their life, which is good for her. Gladiator Daughter is 14" shorter than her, and could take her out in probably 30-seconds. |
