Yep. Then there is their construction, the idea of daily reset to index, and potential counterparty risk. I still trade index and other futures so no need for these 3x but have dabbled in some 2x against my better instincts. Plus futures offer better tax treatment but not for the weak, weary, and faint of heart! Of course I know how to exercise proper risk management which is why I'm still around. :-)
