When NG failed so spectacularly during the Great Freeze in 2021, that put a damper on it. Turns out, weatherizing the chain from wellhead to power generation made solar and wind even more attractive, economically speaking. And Texas already had a bunch of both.

ERCOT and Abbott worked hard to blow smoke up everyone's ass as to what caused the collapse of the grid. But the numbers don't lie.
