Today's fall was due to one large sell order for 410,000 shares which was filled at 11:41 ET in small lots at prices above 7 3/8. In other words, the MM had to sell 410,000 shares to small investors to fill the large trader's sell order. This leaves .5*965,400 - 410,000 = 72700 shares that changed hands of other investors. This large sell order depressed the price for the rest of the day. I saw these numbers on the Internet Trader which is not very perfect in reporting data.
