Like libertarianism, marxism is a product of an ivory tower. Marx and Engels had a very simplified model of human behavior that operates in an idealized economy. Needless to say. neither are practical solutions to base a political system on. Which isn't to say they don't have salient features, but as a pure implementations they are doomed to failure.
