Hi Dara, I would not vigorously stand by that $30 target but I think it is very much a possibility, especially if you consider any deal will also probably include a spin co dividend. The average analyst target price is listed as $16.88., the high at $24 according to this site: ca.investing.com

Given the rich treasury SGD holds and the strong control group of aligned shareholders I do not expect a deal on Valley anytime soon and should one arise it will have to be at a large premium to succeed. Very generally takeovers are done between 10% and 20% of the in situ value of the minerals. SGD has multiple aspects that make it a superior tier one asset, strip ratio, no need to heap leach, consistency of grade etc etc. The only negative and it is hardly insurmountable is its remoteness and that is primarily the power grid which may change as investments in new transmission lines come to the Yukon and Fireweed nearby deposit continues toward production.

Whatever the eventual price, with a current estimate in all categories of 8.8 mil ozs that is set to grow larger, the current price of SGD is at a considerable discount to its value and that is why I bought the drop/ gap fill yesterday. Some POG pressure may continue but I think SGD will hold well compared to the broader pantheon of exploration companies.
