The wealthy elite figured out the average working stiff can't tell the difference between $10-million and $500-billion. It's not tangible, so they may as well be talking about fairy dust or quarks or space farts.

This is one thing that allows deficits to balloon and crony capitalism to flourish. Well, this and weak enforcement of established laws.
