Do you remember why Jesus threw the money-changers out of the temple? A good deal of money was stored at the temple, where it could be loaned by the wealthy to the poor who were in danger of losing their land to debt. The Temple establishment therefore co-operated with the aristocracy in the exploitation of the poor. One of the first acts of the First Jewish-Roman War was the burning of the debt records in the archives. That sounds kind of familiar, doesn't it? The poor paying so much interest to the rich that they lose their land? Just like what's happening to soy farmers today, because of Trump's irresponsible tariffs. Jesus threw the Trumps out of the temple. That was what got him executed. They killed him less than a week later.
