Why so much hatred? Look at the language used in writing below (bottom part of this post),

It is from an influencer named "Irrational Analysis". This handle is active on twitter as well. He constantly spews hatred on Q and is very vocal about it, also put his money (shorts) where his mouth is. By his own admission, he has a personal grudge with the company. Not sure what went wrong where.
Not just limited to one, but there is constant hatred from many other influencers :
  • Semi Accurate (Charlie D) : x.com , semiaccurate.com
  • Mad Money (Jim Cramer) : His hatred on Q is at a different level altogether. Often gets personal and bad mouths the company and the CEO.
  • SemiAnalysis (Dylan Patel is not as direct as others but also haven't seen him saying anything that could be perceived as positive for Q) x.com
  • Some ex-employees like Samir K ( x.com ) : Again, not just limited to one here, there are many like him that hate post on Q and that too with passion. Not sure why though.
Many investment/fund houses follow them. So, this is a serious lapse that needs to be addressed.

There are also many (almost all) news websites/blogs that parrot Apple and Samsung fed news to them like : Exynos will beat / replace Snapdragon in Galaxy devices ; Modem license renewal ; NVDA entering 6G ; Q is in commodity business, etc.

Then there are fans of NVDA, Apple, AVGO, AMD (either because they genuinely like their products or they invested in that stock) who by virtue of their biases or position, hate on Q.

Still waiting for any effective counter measures from Q's PR & Marketing department. Snapdragon summit is not enough. People come there (some sponsored), blog for a day or two and then forget all. Qualcomm investor events could be more effective instead.

As of now, some influential people that are on Q's side are :
  • Stacy Rasgon (Bernstein)
  • Jim Lebenthal (Cerity)
  • Patrick Moorhead (Moor Insights)
  • Jon Fortt (CNBC)
  • Daniel Newman (Futurum)

Clearly, the above support is not sufficient enough and this landscape needs to change significantly.

Quick note before heading to work because I am livid.

Qualcomm announced an “AI inference rack” without any specs other than memory capacity. The revision of PCIe and LPDDR is not even disclosed.

Previously covered Qualcomm’s core business and their failed datacenter AI chip in-depth here.

Qualcomm is out of time.

Since that post, we have real news, from Cristaino Amon, the CEO.

substack.com

According to an official SEC filing on October 2nd 2025 (weeks after my post), he liquidated half his bags.

If you read the filing, there are some funny bits.

He even sold a tiny monetary quantity of ESPP shares, half of which were at short-term capital gains taxed.

This bullshit AI inference datacenter rack announcement happened during pre-earnings quiet period. Companies tend to do this so they can refuse to answer any questions. Seen this trick before.

I think $QCOM earnings will be a disaster 8 days from now.

  • Apple has had a huge iPhone 17 cycle.

  • China market has been going poorly for Qualcomm.

    • Apple surprising share gains.

    • Xiaomi significant weakness.

  • Samsung/Galaxy share gains probably higher than 25%.

  • Apple may have stockpiled thin modems in order to rugpull Qualcomm in CY2026.

  • Memory (DRAM+NAND) price trends going to crush smartphone BOM against Qualcomm.

Bullshit announcement has been widely ridiculed.

There is a reason why FLOPS are not disclosed… this chip probably optimized for INT4/INT8 throughput lol.

At the time of writing, I hold large long positions in real AI companies ( $AVGO $NVDA ) and a short (put) position against $QCOM .

Actually lived. Very tempted to 4x the Qualcomm put position next week right before earnings. IV is shit right now because of the stupidity yesterday.

Maybe I know something about semiconductor investing????

See you next week. Let’s see who is right.
