This is one of the charts that I was looking at a couple of weeks ago where there was an indication of a short-term bottom. That same chart now depicts a 2-year uptrend, break, and back-kiss (blue line). Maybe this is the beginning of a topping process, where the S&P creeps up further along that line, or maybe it turns into a more significant selloff. There are certainly plenty of daily, weekly, and monthly negative divergences to keep a decline going, but this market has certainly managed to ignore many negative technicals so far on its path to continued record highs.
