This time, owing to the immediate impact of tariffs on consumer purchases of not only discretionary items but even imported food, such as vanilla from Madagascar, blueberries from Peru, coffee from Brazil. Need I say more? The economists, including Nobel laureate Paul Krugman, may not be able to predict WHEN, but assuredly, it's coming.
