Bumped into an old message of mine searching for "Schopenhauer" because his quotes pop up with the Voltaire quote that was so good I had to post it (and verify it). Got deep quick.

Interesting guy, Schopenhauer - about as big of a black pill doomer as you could ever hope to never meet. Reminded me of the term Christian Epiphenomenalism that I ran into on SI, except without the Christian part. I expect that particular part of his message is why he got so much attention, BWDIK.
