A new study has revealed that the neglect of grazing reserves, blocked stock routes, and poor governance of natural resources are key drivers of the recurring farmer–herder conflicts across northern Nigeria.

This was part of the findings presented at a one-day dissemination workshop in Kano on Thursday, organised by the Strengthening Peace and Resilience in Nigeria programme, funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.
