the gist of this article mostly applies to AI proccessing. a couple of years ago, Carver Meaded proposed making AI chips analog to mirror brain cells and develop neural networks based upon analog tiles. the issue is that it is alot more diffacult to process like that and scaling it to larger problems and larger NN is tough. So digital neural networks have prevailed.

I would be surprised if analog NN are still viable.
