UAN. How do you know what your cost basis is? The brokerage co tells you your initial cost basis, but do the k-1 people know to subtract the distribution and keep a running total going for the years you've held? Or do you have to do this yourself?

I can't remember, but there was always somebody on-line saying keep your k-1 records because k-1 people only keep records for three years. Don't recall exactly the circumstances you'd need them. Just another alert to me though that I don't like the rigamarole with k-1's
