RE: Dennys Corp (DENN)

Private equity sure is everywhere these days. Tick, tock, tick, tock.

Denny's is a once great brand that I am sure TriArtisan is thinking they can revive like they did with PF Changs. Damola Adamolekun pitched the PF revival concept which made its way to Paulson & CO and TriArtisan Capital. Damola left PF and of course has now turned Red Lobster around so won't be a help here.

TriArtisan has also messed around with TGI Fridays (chapter 11) and Claires (chapter 11).

Denny's has been trying to turn around for years though and struggled so curious what their plan is to get growth out of this. I did see Yadav Enterprises is part of this too and Anil Yadav use to be a Denny's franchisee so there is at least some insider understanding.

I guess it's a value buy if they can do something to revive it, but I don't see it. I don't think the Denny's brand image resonates with the American eater the way it did years ago and with the number of newer restaurants that have opened in the last 15 years the market is saturated with choice.

Well, hope it works for them and turns into a "grand slam"!
