| | | I agree with you. The question is, will the Supreme Court take away his right to tariff without Congressional approval. If they do, will the Republicans either stand up to him, or cave in not only to accept his numbers, but also apply the nuclear option in the Senate. I believe that enough Republicans will stand up for Constitutional law that nearly all his tariffs will be dropped, or after Congressional debate, new, largely lower tariffs will be set for most countries.
Honestly, I don't know what tariffs were with him coming into office, but I believe that there were some, but they had Congressional concurrence. Starting at those levels and adjusting as some proof is established for up, or down, movement ought to be where things start.
I would also hope that Congress either stops the killing of people on boats or authorizing it. I believe our Navy should be capable of capturing the boats and inspecting them. I don't doubt that many were either transporting drugs, or people, perhaps both, but should it be a death sentence for doing so. Do we need a declaration of war if all boats are coming from a single country?
The point is, will the Supreme Court start to remove some of the powers that Trump believes they've given him?
