If you go back a ways, or for some other reason have stock certificates stashed somewhere, get them into street name somewhere ASAP. They've always been the biggest PITA of any brokerages's life, but even more so if they were in the names of dead people. If your broker's somewhere in the cloud, find a storefront somewhere, and once they're all in street name, transfer the account. The fewer brokers you have when the time comes, the less your heirs will have to put up with.
