If I had a loved one affected by violent crime, my first call goes to George Gently and my very last to Lynley (the classic version), He was so obsessed with his own emotions and issues that I was always surprised he got around to solving anything in the end. Just juvenile half the time. The remake is like most retreats trading on an old name. Slick but leaves you hungry later.
