Ok, it seems super speedy memory is tremendously important for AI in the data center. Inferencing I guess just massively increases the memory capacity demand as well.

QCOM wants to do AI on device.

I have no idea how that works, but it seems perhaps logical that speedy memory on the device would be a requisite for successful AI on the device (I just made that up, I hope it's true).

Who makes sure that the NAND memory on the cell phone or PC is super speedy? SIMO! They've got the newest fastest NAND controllers available for PCIe gen5 PC SSDs and DRAMless UFS 4.1 controllers for mobile phones.

QCOM (already in mobile phones and moving into PCs) should acquire SIMO.

SIMO has a rapidly growing auto business as well.

If QCOM doesn't acquire SIMO, someone else is going to do it, and then if QCOM wants to go into a bidding war as both entities realize the incredible scarcity of on device memory controller makers (SIMO is basically it) well they're just going to need to pay a very high price.

And then China can block the deal. Great.
