No way it will trgain tropical status based on those temps, but they are still higher than normal, which the salmon from North America trying to fatten up as they mature and prepare to return to spawn will not like.

If the North Pacific ever gets warm enough to really intensify storms, we will all be in big trouble from a lot more than that, but I am guessing the warmer temps will mean less energy is sucked out of storms passing out of it.

But I am venturing beyond my area of expertise, so maybe someone knows more.
