What most excites me most are all the women entering politics and most are Democats, by a wide margin! There now 14 female governors and 10 are Democrats. As of the beginning of the 119th Congress in January 2025, there are 110 Democratic women and 40 Republican women serving, based on election results from November 2024. Breakdown by chamber U.S. House of Representatives: Democratic women: 94 Republican women: 31 These totals include only voting representatives, but the Center for American Women and Politics reports that four additional non-voting delegates are also women (two Democrats and two Republicans). U.S. Senate: Democratic women: 16 Republican women: 9 Total women in Congress
