Hedge/ Curious - AAPL Modem – conditions for QCOM to continue to supply or not

The modem supply contracts supposed end is March ’27. Before that, AAPL has a decision to make , use its own in-house modem, MediaTek as an alternative, or QCOMs.

Not using QCOMs depends on the acceptability of the others- mmW, satellite connectivity, advanced mobile tech (6G), etc.

If at decision time, QCOM alternatives are not acceptable for premium tier iPhone and AAPL comes hat in hand to QCOM- conditions for extension-

+ Hefty up front fee- $10- $20B

+ Long term agreement – 10 years.

+ 50% ASP price increase.

+ Agreement (enforceable) not to enter/ persuade any others to litigate against QCOM, nor public back stabbing.

+ Continous public praise of QCOM modems via AAPL paid media articles / broadcasts.

+ Early retirement of Tim Cook, and cohorts involved in anti-QCOM antics over the years.

Take it or leave it, no negotiations.
