Handsets are 70% of Qualcomm's chipset business. They are always going to be a significant contributor.

ps and traders are always going to be taking advantage of all that can be mustered within that realm. It's simply the nature of that business and too boot it includes a significant Chinese component which is also heavily worked by traders and governmental regulatory entities. C'est la vie.

Real change for Qualcomm comes from getting away from empowering all comers with std essential intellectual property and focusing more upon producing the best products which can be sold to the highest bidder.

Products empowering all are not going disappear. However, this area becomes more of the place where Qualcomm can drift their innovations into maintaining it as a cash cow component of their business. I suspect the dominance of this sector is your point.
