I don't really find it funny.

When Wikipedia lost its mind and started posting patently false nonsense, I left it and haven't been back, I suppose, in several years. I was glad when it became well-known fact that they had sold out to the left. And if Musk were to be successful with his effort, I see it as an entirely positive thing: at least, there will be competition in the space where one can get alternate accounts of the facts.

Finding "truth" is a pretty hard thing to do. But about 100% of the time, I'd pick a Musk product over Wikipedia, which last I checked, had become an abject fairy tale. Hopefully, they have reeled it in from where it was when I dropped out.

But they ruined the value of Wikipedia in the course of a very short period of time; they had a modicum of credibility and it is gone, probably for good.
