Tenchu's Thoughts: No, the Layoffs are NOT Due To AI

There are news reports of layoffs happening across many Fortune 500 companies. MAGA cultists cannot deny those facts.

However, I keep hearing the excuse from executives as to why they're laying off people. They claim it's because AI is replacing those jobs.

The truth is that they're not, at least not yet.

Instead they anticipate that AI will replace the lost productivity due to the layoffs.

There are two reasons:

1) It keeps the Mango Mussolini off their backs. He wants to believe that the layoffs are actually good news for corporate America, instead of what they really are, which is a response to his chaotic policies.

2) It keeps Wall Street happy. They want to hear that corporations are doing more with less. They want confirmation that AI will vastly multiply the productivity of corporate America. They are under the illusion that the GDP will continue to grow with advances in generative AI despite all the signs that we're in a bubble.

As the chaos in Washington grows, I expect more and more pullback from business investment, job creation, and the overall economic numbers.

All triggered by policy (i.e. NOT by external factors like war or pandemics).

All under a personality cult that continues to lie to themselves about where this country is headed.
