I own CARY, I'm not a big fan of bond funds and prefer individual bonds. I feel folks are better off just doing the research with the bond tools provided by the brokerage houses.
I don't own many bonds and have had a few called.

Something you might want to look at are autocallable structured notes. They are quite popular with investment advisors and offer great yields while offering good downside protection.
I currently own CAIE from Calamos. There are also funds offered by Simplify and Innovator.
