I probably didn't explain my question clearly:
I called Calamos and spoke with the ETF Autocallable agent.
He explained that half could go down more than 40% and you would still not lose any principle. He said you just have to look at the "Weighted Average MTM" that is shown under the chart. Currently the weighted average is 99.40%. If it approaches -40%, then you may lose principle.

This would have to be an event like 2008-2009 for this to happen.
The answer I was looking for was "Weighted Average MTM" shown under the chart.
I got it now!!!
Yes-----definitely going to invest probably 1-2% of my portfolio
