I know the argument - if the R’s exercise the nuclear option and get rid of the filibuster, next time the Dems are in power, they’ll go wild. Maybe. But if the filibuster is eliminated and the R’s actually pass legislation for election reform - voter ID, require proof of citizenship, no mail in voting except in rare instances, no early voting - there’s a possibility the Dems will never be in power again. Only question is, would the R’s actually pass meaningful election reform? I question whether they would.
