Tesla Updates Referral Program With New Bonuses

Tesla has rolled out another update to its U.S. referral program, introducing new incentives that now reward owners when someone they refer completes a Full Self-Driving (Supervised) demo drive. The change builds on the broader referral revamp Tesla rolled out in September, when it increased referral discounts on the Model S, Model X, and Cybertruck to $1,000.

According to the updated messaging, Tesla now lets owners “refer your friends to experience FSD (Supervised) and get $15.” The company adds: “Earn $15 in Tesla Credits each time you refer friends and family who are new to Tesla to complete a Full Self-Driving (Supervised) demo drive.” These demo-drive rewards are capped at 30 per owner, for a total potential payout of $450.

Tesla has also tweaked what buyers receive when using a referral link. “When friends and family use your referral link, they will receive 3 months of FSD (Supervised) or up to $1,000 off,” the company said. For the Model 3 and Model Y, buyers get 3 months of FSD (Supervised) or $500 off if they also purchase the FSD (Supervised) upgrade. The Model S and Model X continue to offer $1,000 off with a referral code.

On the referrer side, owners can now earn up to $250 in Tesla Credits when someone they refer buys a Tesla EV or $500 if they purchase with FSD (Supervised), depending on which vehicle their referral orders.

These savings stack with Tesla’s Military, First Responder, Teacher and Student Purchase programs, as well as its Lyft Driver Purchase Program, each offering an additional $1,000 off for eligible buyers. Combined with periodic price adjustments and end-of-quarter pushes, the referral program remains one of the easiest ways for both buyers and owners to save money, earn credits, and help others transition into the Tesla ecosystem.

Tesla routinely fine-tunes its referral perks based on demand cycles, and this latest update adds yet another pathway for owners to accumulate credits simply by encouraging newcomers to try FSD (Supervised) first-hand.

If you’ve been considering a new Tesla, now may be the right time to use a referral link to set up a demo drive. And if you decide to buy a Tesla, use a referral code to get up to $1,000 off your new vehicle.
